Applications

It can work either as a solar panel without utilizing the charge controller:

 This is for charging power stations;

 (You connect PV via PV connectors to 0.2 m PV cable with unipolar aircraft model plug. After that the 0.2 m cable via unipolar plug connection to the short connector. Then the short connector via DC connector to the power station.)

OR as solar panel kit by making use of the controller for battery charging and USB devices;

 (You connect PV via PV connectors to 0.2 m PV cable with unipolar aircraft model plug, then 0.2 m cable via unipolar plug to charge controller. Then the charge controller via 1.5 m wire with unipolar aircraft model plugs.  Then the 0.2 m cable via battery clips to the battery.)

For USB devices utilize the USB ports from the charge controller;

Mobile phones;

Tablets and digital camera;

 Electronic Devices;

Travel;

 RV van;

Cycling;

Hiking;

Camping;

As well as all other outdoor activities.

Charge Controller

20 Ampere Dual USB 12V/24V controller20 Ampere Dual USB 12V/24V controller.

The 150 watt portable solar panel comes with a 20Ampere Dual USB 12V/24V solar controller. Also a short 0.2m cable as well as a longer 1.5 m extension cable.

The controller is pulse width modulation.

This controller has a function to prevent overcharge and over-discharge.

Use the charge controller to protect the batteries against unsafe electrical conditions.  Use it for the charge of 12V batteries by utilizing the crocodile clips.

To charge a solar generator you can utilize the unipolar model plugs.

The controller also comes with 2 x 5 volts 2 ampere USB ports for small devices.

If there is a need you can buy some extension cable. This is to use before the charge controller to ensure you leave your devices out of the sun. Only the panel itself will be in the sunshine then.

Always connect the battery first. Then the load and last the solar panel.

When you disconnect go panel, load, and last the battery.

  Operating the 150 watt portable solar panel

  • Locate a sunlit area. Be sure it is a spot without any obstacles blocking the sun.

  • Now it is a matter of unfolding the three panels and faces it towards the sun. It will immediately start producing an output.

  • It is best to adjust the solar panels to realize max sunlight for as long as possible during the day. That will ensure the most power output.

  • Always connect the positive and negative leads according to the prescribed polarity.

  • Remember to read all the safety precautions. Then you put the 150 watt  solar panel into operation.

  • A proper battery clip connection will prevent short circuits.

  • Be aware that anything that covers the surface of the 150 watts solar module can reduce the output power.

The good

  • This 150 watt solar module is easy to carry, hang, and remove. It is an easy plug and play system.

  • The simple plugin cables are easy to set up with little instruction.

  • It is foldable, portable, and lightweight, and you can use it for a variety of applications.

  • This is a Monocrystalline cell with high efficiency of 19.8% to 20%.

  • The manufacturers use the second-generation component packaging process. The module is thinner, lighter, and softer and has a longer life.

  • They make the surface of the PET material. They treat it with special technology to make it more weather-resistant. Also to improve the absorption efficiency of sunlight.

  • The 150 watt folding solar panel is easy to store when you fold it.

  • They protect the panel well in a thick fabric sewn pocket.

Disadvantages of the 150 watt portable solar panel

The waterproof level of the controller is not high, so please ensure that you keep it dry.

It is a good product but some people had problems with mounting errors.

Some people would like an MPPT controller.

To mention

  • You can change the cable from the controller to the panel for a longer cable. This makes it easier when the sun is not always close to your camper.

  • The solar panel works great, even on a cloudy day, it  still produces up to 21 volts.

  • The solar panel is lightweight, but a good performer.

Warranty

The 150 watt portable solar panel comes with a 12-month warranty.

In a conclusion

This 150 watt portable solar panel is a good performer and it comes at a reasonable price.
